Hello Dvxusers,

I am taking off for Romania here soon and was going to be shooting some video over there. That not being my main objective, shooting video will be a bonus.

Anyways I am trying to figure out what to bring for gear. I have a hpx170, one 16gb card, and a firestore (with all the batteries and cases) that I would bring. The things with that is power sources (which could be tough sometimes) and I don't own the gear. It has been given to me, but a company owns it, I just use it for all my personal use and videos for them. I would also be bringing my own Canon 40d, so it will be a lot of gear to bring along.

The other option, would be to sell my Canon 40d dSLR, and buy the new Canon 7d and shoot video with that. That would be my own camera. But I have to drop about $1k for that.

What do you think guys? Thanks!

You know, despite not being 'real video cameras', one thing these DSLR's excel at is travel. I have lenses, chargers, filters, batteries, for a GH1 and an HFS100, plus a 17 inch macbook pro, all in one backpack, and it feels good, because I'm on the road a lot.

Things can also get stolen or damaged...shit happens. The 7D is a lot cheaper than the HPX...
