View Full Version : I got a crew gig for a TLC show

I haven't crewed on a paying gig since Spring of 2008 and I get a call yesterday to crew on the show "Toddlers and Tiaras" weird show, but will be fun on my end to get back into the industry as crew. I'm down as a Production Assistant. They never told me what type of PA, but I'm guessing now just a regular PA.

ha, I'd be happy to as much how weird I think that show is. And how weird it is shooting it in the town I live in. Very tiny town. Not even known as a city, just a town. Odd but works for me.

In all seriousness, this is one gig I would turn down. It would be like participating in child abuse. I recognize you may not be in a position to do so.

All that aside, congrats! I'm shooting on a TLC show as well... it's my first venture into television and it's certainly educational! It keeps you on your toes...
Good luck. And remember - if they were normal people, they wouldn't be on TV. Don't let them get to you :)

My first gig ever was on psychic investigators. It was an experience. Congrats man. Never heard of your show, but it sounds really...odd.

just got back from it and yes very odd and weird. and pretty much just a mom taking control over her daughter making her do this. Behind the scenes was pretty nuts.. a lot of reshooting had to be made. The little girl doesn't even want to do this pageant, but the mom is making her.

Save your footage and cut your own expose documentary, somewhere down the road. Maybe you can help cut the number of little girls reduced to the status of show-poodles...
