View Full Version : Is there an easy way to watch festival entries?

Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if there's an easy way to view the films from the
various DVXuser Fests? The winners get listed, but rarely is there
a simply link to play them.

There are lots of threads about the movies, with detailed production
photos and information, but not the actual film.

I even Googled the fests and found videos on Vimeo. I got excited
for a moment before realizing these were trailers for the fests,
not the films.

Am I missing something?

Help!

Peter

Wow. 24 views, no replies.

I'm starting to think that there is no easy way to watch
DVXuser FEST videos. The winners at the very least.

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it. I'm
totally willing to accept that I didn't search hard enough and
that films like "02" are just a click away.

If however, I am correct that it's not any easy process, I would
like to ask the moderators if this can be corrected. One Vimeo
page would do it, with separate albums for each FEST.

Thanks.

i was wondering the same thing, its so difficult i gave up after having to click like a thousand times just to watch a few.

Well, at least that makes two of us.

Are they any moderators reading this that can shed some light
on the problem? Why is there not one "sticky" thread dedicated
to links for all the FEST entries?

I would think with all the effort members put into creating these
films there would be more concern about distribution - if not the
general public than at least to fellow DVXers.

What's the point of making a film that no one can see?

You can download the films from the links on http://www.dvxfest.com
The finalists are listed for each fest and you can click to download each film.

This is the current system for viewing any of the films. I'm sure the mods are working to upgrade the system and there will be an easier way to view at some point, but it's a work in progress.

Happy viewing.

Thank you Rodney. Hallelujah!

There was a simple solution after all. Can't wait to start enjoying all those films!

Best.

By the way - how about making this a STICKY? It will
definitely help out future users.

At the very least, perhaps just Rodney's post?

I posted my last one on openfilm. I'll be posting this one as well when I can.

When the viewing opens, download the zip files that contain ALL the films from the fest.
You can then watch them at your leisure. I use a WD Media Player so I can watch them on the big screen.

It would be great if the films were able to get streamed online too.
