So I was over at the Red site today and this was the first time I actually took a look at the Lenses they'll be offering. And I must say, the thought of those miniRed Primes on my soon to be received 7D is beautiful.
If you look at the back of the lenses in the pic there doesn't seem to be that much room to stop someone from creating a mount for the 7D, or am I missing something.
Now I don't claim to know how the mounting options work, as this will be my first DSLR, and I haven't even received it yet. Although I think my initial thoughts might be correct.
These miniRed Primes look like they would fit.
What do you think?

You'll need Canon mount lenses or some adapter that may come to fruition some day.
The Zeiss primes are being ported over to Canon - the 50 and 85 are already available and soon the whole line.

The Mini's are for 2/3 format. Don't think they would cover the S35 sized sensor in the 7D. You would want the full Red Primes in PL mount, if they could be made to fit with the big fat rear element.

If it's your first camera, just get a regular lens like the kit lens and get the hang of that first. It's not like the kit lens is a total POS, and you might as well work with somethng designed to make your life easy to start with rather than make straight for the Outer Limits. This is just your brain trying to keep itself busy while you wait for your gear to arrive. Ignore it, don't by anything else until you've got the camera, used the kit lens for a while, can articulate what you find limiting about it.

The mini-primes, as rallymatt said, are designed to cover the 2/3" format. All you'd get on a 7D is probably a great big field of black, with a small circle of image in the center. The 7D's sensor is about six times bigger than the 2/3" format, so those mini-primes might project an image onto about 1/6 to 1/5 of your 7D's sensor, and the rest will be nothing but black.

If only, lol. I traded the kit for the body only a couple days ago in order to get a broader range of lenses.
Saved $200, and got 2 extra lenses. Of course I had to pay alittle extra but I believe it was worth the trade off.
Ended up getting the
Canon 50mm f1.8 V1 (metal one) so i could use my FF
Sigma 18-55 f3.5-5.6
Sigma 55-200mm f4.5-5.6
these should be ok, and for a slightly slower zoom lens I think I should be ok. I mainly wanted that 50mm, cuz i heard so many great things about it.
