I've been using Toast to convert my HMC-150 files into Apple Pro-Res HQ. The video playback is fine, however, there is no audio, not even a waveform shows up. I've remember reading something about changing the audio export to 48hz or 44.0 hz, or something. What audio setting do I need?

thanks.

okay. i changed the audio output to linear pcm at 48hz instead of aac at 44.1hz. works fine.

ok. so I can hear audio while I scrub, is there something not set correctly, or should I just reconvert everything?

You need all your audio to be 48 khz Linear PCM.

FCP won't play aac to my knowledge. Even if it does, you would have to render.

I was under the impression that Linear PCM for some reason was not a good format for audio? Not sure where I heard that or if I'm just making it up for some reason. Why does final cut not like AAC? Is it not a good format?

Actually now that I think about it.. it's AIFF files that I was always told to use if I could..

There is no choice for aiff out of Toast in the video transcode I believe. Hence PCM.
