The VC stabilation on the tamron 18-270 lens is great. Most of this video was shot right at or very near to the 270mm end of the lens - while being handheld on the INdierails rig.

Nice job, how do you like the DSRLsm rig?

I can see where VC/IS can become inhibiting. The jerky motion caused by the stabilization when you begin to pan/move.

wow man, very cool.

I can't believe that even the whip panning skew didn't bother me in the least! I find the skew on this camera to be very easy to deal with.

thanks for sharing!

DSLR video is new to me and this was my first attempt at using all the gear - I learned a lot. I was constantly adjusting the DSLRsm to find the most comfortable and workable position, I found it awkward at first - but at the end, I grew much more comfortable with it. I did learn that I absolutely need one of the hoodman lcd viewer things. I couldn't focus my eyes on the LCD, and had no idea if I was in focus or even what was actually in frame.

Some of that jerky motion may actually be a result of me doing an auto focus - as the camera automatically changes focus, it will adjust the exposure - when this happens, it may duplicate frames. I edited this thing real quick and missed some spots where this was happening.
