Hey guys,
Been looking at buying some sort of small dolly to put a bit of movement in my shots. The main three I have found are:
1. kessler pocket dolly (http://www.kesslercrane.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=230&Itemid=105)

2. the indislider pro (http://indifocus.com/products_indisliderpro.htm)

3. the glidetrack HD (www.glidetrack.com)

Any suggestions on the best of those three or any other options?
thanks
jared

I got something much much better for you, DVXuser's very own ZaZaSlider

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=145701

be warned though, this thread is now 93 pages long and going strong! So that's a lot of reading.

Here's the 58" rail I built using ZaZaCast's instructions, cost $180 with shipping
(you don't have to use a 516 like I have pictured, you can use whatever tripod head you want,
BTW - the rail can take 1000lbs of weight before the coefficient of friction changes)

FYI, the indiSLIDER and Glidetrack appear to use Igus parts, just like the DIY solution.

From what I've read, the ZaZa Slider is not at all hard to make. (There's even a tutorial video available). You get the same performance and more flexible specs (since you make it yourself) at half the price. To me, it seems like an irresistible choice over the others.

Not appear, its confirmed!! And mentioned many times in ZaZa's thread. You are essentially ordering the same parts those companies use.

That's why I don't begrudge anyone who refuses a more cost-effective DIY option... Some people (me included) just can't be bothered to DIY.

I'm not looking forward to building my own ZaZa Slider, no matter how easy it might be.

Dude, trust me, they talk about 5 minutes to make. The most time consuming part is filling out the order on line.

Oops... Looks like I was mistaken about that. He (the guy who invented it) created a Vimeo group (http://vimeo.com/groups/zazaslider) suggesting that there should be tutorials, but I see now that nobody actually posted one.

So... Anyone wanna post one?

Nobody posted a tutorial because they are so easy to make.
- You get a rail and a carriage in the mail.
- You drill some holes in the rail.
- You attach tripods to the holes.
- You slide the carriage on the rail.

I spent more time reading post 1 and writing down what diameter drill bits to buy
than actually making it.

ZaZaCast has been kind enough to summarize all of the best posts that contribute to the slider in post 1 so
you don't have to read the whole thread.

Of course ... if you want someone to make if for you then you have Glidetrack and IndiSlider right there
