View Full Version : Random 7D Clip - Work
Warning, upon reviewing, i noticed the use of one curse word, so sensitive ears please do not click on the link.
Otherwise, just an example of the 7D hand held in natural lighting, nothing controlled. Straight from camera. Good to observe hand held jitter/ bad case skew on an 18-55mm lens ( mostly at between 32mm and 55mm )

The hand held jitter is definitely there. I'd be interested to see what and IS lens can do.
But keep in mind that there is a time and a place for that kind of hand held look!
oh absolutely. But for me, if i were shooting anything remotely serious, I would throw the camera on a shoulder rig, which gets rid of all of the jitter.

ACtually the FOUNDRY's Rolling SHutter filter takes micro-shakey clips like these and makes them look very nice - Don't rule out this style of cinematography just yet...
I've always found microshaky footage to have just that nth degree of jello which feels disturbing without being obvious (like a big skewed line for example) - once you use the Rolling Shutter plugin,
that type of footage starts to look like beloved handheld 35mm film camera work...
I've done extensive testing on this with the Foundry's demo version - I'll try to post some examples later...
