I just found this thread and I am really excited about the coming films.
I wish to start something at this point, but I am a bit nervous about completing it on time!
I am curious as to how far along many of you are with your films...
I went ahead and wrote out a quick outline and make a list of available props and needed props...etc but still need talent to fill in the roles!
I will push forward anyway, even if I don't make it in under deadline, it will be a good exercise either way...

I filmed mine a couple of weeks back, so I'm close to being done, but I have never finished so early in one of these festivals. I had one entry before that was shot and edited about 10 days before the festival - not a good idea, but at least I got something in and was able to get feedback. There are several people that haven't even began filming yet, though some have been doing pre-production. My advice - jump on in!

Go for it...like you said, it gets you making a film. There's always the next fest too!

true enough!!!!, I am writing the script out right now, as well as making calls to secure the locations and contacting the actor I have worked with before for some last mintue action!
So I will move forward either way

A few fests back, I shot/edited my short (The Split) within 2 weeks before the deadline. I made it in time. I did it all on my own as well.

'The Devil's Toy' filmed yesterday. 'Sleeper' films the 10-11th (that's close). Hell I'm not sure when 'Thirst' is shooting. So you are just on time.

sounds like youve got the right attitude towards getting things done. now the hard part is when youve just got to gird up your loins and actually follow through on it. i think thats the best excersise you can accomplish. because for every 100 ideas..only a few of them ever becom a reality. hoping this gives you that little extra push to excell !
best of luck man, and hope to see your film in the fest or afterwards :)

I also have just started. Shooting on Thurs night, and then post the following week. Get Ready for the Klitchen Klaws! I work better under pressure so this will be great, havn't really shot anything since school.

jump in!
my last two entries were all done within the last two weeks prior to the deadline. hindsight... I probably should have more time and $$ put into them. It's a great exercise to handle the pressures of working fast.
good luck!

Hey all,
A quick question as I read over a script for MonsterFest:
Part A) Does is break Copyright/Trademark, (and therefore is it illegal in terms of MonsterFest) to have someone wear a band t-shirt in a film?
Part B) If it is illegal, can a band be mentioned by name, if no pictures are used?
Thanks.

My entries have always been last minute. I will be sad if I don't uphold my tradition. Still seeing how I can pull it off again this year.
