I will primarily use my 7D for photography, sometimes for video, but probably not in the same day.
I would like a tight setup. More important than money, looks, or anything, I want a nice solid setup that is simple and flexible.
I will be using my
Canon 50mm f/1.4
Canon 70-200mm /f2.8L IS
For the photography side, there's not a lot of stuff to complicate shooting. I'll have the body, the lens, and light. I shoot both lenses with lens hood's on, like this one...

Just to keep light from corners streaming in.
You film pro's use matteboxes and all sorts of little toys to assist your shooting. What should I be looking for, honestly? For the video shooting I would use a tripod, handheld, and monopod. I would like a tight "video" setup that I could rig up for video days, but I don't want to spend thousands on matteboxes and stuff that are...
cost a ton, for little gain
are a mess to configure, setup, change around, etc.
I need to be able to switch lenses quickly, as well has give my H4N a nesting home.
These redrock kits are LOOKING SICK! But, I feel like they are overkill for me, and would frustrate me messing with them.
Set me up a nice simple system, that more important than budget or looks is Flexible and Simple.
thank you DVX community!
(I still love my DVX100A, just throwing that out there)
