5D vs. 7D Tests

Drew Ott and I put together a few tests between the 5dmkii and 7d for review. these are not meant to be scientific, only informational.

skew test:
-5d mounted on top of 7d
-5d at 50mm / 7d at 32mm (1.6 crop equivalent of 50mm)
-both cameras at 1080/30p - f/13 - 1/60

iso tests (5d first, then 7d in sequence / again, 5d at 50mm and 7d at 32mm)
#1 - iso 160 - f3.5 - 1/60
#2 - iso 2500 - f11 - 1/60
#3 - iso 6400 - f18 - 1/60

and finally…

sharpness test (no chart, just books and cash)
#1 - 5d with 50mm lens - f3.5 - 1/30
#2 - 7d with 50mm lens - f3.5 - 1/30
#3 - 5d with 50mm lens (same tripod position as 7d above, to show 1.6x field-of-view "crop factor" difference)

very cool, although i have a hard time seeing the skewing comparison between the two. Any chance to have it in split screen? :)

I'll see if I can get that put together tomorrow.

But from what I was seeing on screen, I'd say the skew is about identical between the two, although it "feels" like the 7D returns to normal just a hair quicker. But it's ever so slight.

ya, justp layed them side by side. Skew looks identical.

That rolling shutter is brutal on both, I guess I'll be doing extremely slow pans in the future.
