I'm trying to import footage by command 8, now when I go to do this I've got my footage import settings set to HD - HDV 1080p 24p any of the HD settings I can't seem to import in with because I get this weird error.

What do I do and what do I set my seq settings to?

I'm using a XH-A1

Have you tried using the HDV 1080i60 preset? I haven't used the XH-A1 but most HDV cameras capture 24p in a 60i stream. Is the FW output on the camera set for HDV or DV?

In the camera itself you can change whether or not HDV or DV is coming out of the FW port. The manual should have instructions on how to locate and change the setting.

the XH A1 HDV 24F is exactly 23.98 frames per second, no pulldown is involved.

See how on the side there's a description of the setup you've selected?

Pretty sure the "Device Control Presets" tab you should select "HDV Firewire Basic NDF" or "HDV Firewire NDF"

Then you need to change the "Capture Presets" to an HDV setting.

Just check the sides and make sure what you've selected matches what you're bringing in.
