Newbie here looking for some guidance from those of you that have been editing in FCP for years.
How do you determine what video footage / images go on what V1 timeline? Do you place them all in one or A roll footage in one, B roll footage or another? Just looking for some helpful advice.

From my experience, If your working with other editors its important to follow "procedures" which you abide by. **I'm sure it varies from post house to the next.
Otherwise if your working by yourself, why have rules??
Being organized and tidy never hurt anyone tho

True working alone does have it's benefits just trying to create a best practice that I can follow and minimize confusion when getting deep into the editing process. Bit being organized from the beginning is definitely the answer,

A roll V1 - B roll V2 and so on. It helps to keep everything organized so you know where everything is. However sometimes A roll will take V1 and V2 if I need more space. I do the same for the audio

Cool that's what I am doing now. Just wondered what other folks did an why. I have a similiar thread over at LACFCP and it' has some interesting responses.
