I have been researching the past several days all over the net and calling everyone I know who has used the HVX and P2s so that I do this correctly. I apologize I am new to the P2 workflow and it seems like every time I find the solution, I end up at the exact point in which I started.

I have downloaded the latest P2 drivers and P2CMS Software.
I am able to use the HVX200 to log an transfer data directly from the P2 cards.
I also have rented an AG-HPG10 to capture my cards.

Any other time this wouldn't be a problem. However, I have an important event tomorrow and need to be able to dump my cards and continue shooting.

*** The Problem ***

If I transfer the data from the cards using the P2CMS Software from either the Camera or Capture Deck to my Mac, log and transfer does not open my files. I have set the path to the capture to the CONTENTS folder and the LASTCLIP.TXT is present.

This same problem occurs when I try pulling the data directly from the P2 card from capture deck.

Is there anything I am overlooking or not doing correctly here?

I am running a mac with OSX 10.5.8, FCP 6.06, Quicktime 7.6.4

I'd like to give a heads up thanks to Barry Green and NoahK, all the posts I have read you guys have had the answers.

SO you are copying the FULL card, both the Contents folder and lastclip file, to a separate folder for each card? And giving that folder a unique name that doesn't have any odd symbols? !@#$%^&*()+

#36 - One or More P2 files failed to import.

Shane's Stock Answer #36 - "One or more clips failed to import..."

Very often in the field with this camera the camera operator will delete clips from the P2 card that they just don't like. That is the beauty of this camera. But, the still for that video file (located in the CLIP folder in the CONTENTS folder)...the still that you see when you are in the P2 Import window...is not deleted. So you will see the image, and the name, but the video file would have been deleted.

What you can do it compare the file names in the VIDEO folder and CLIP folder and see if anything is missing. If something is, then you know what the problem is. You can then just import the rest a few at time, skipping that one.

ALSO...in the P2 Import window...in the P2 Browser, there is a little sprocket drop down menu. Click on that and choose PREFERENCES. Uncheck REMOVE PULLDOWN and then try importing again.

ALSO...make sure your file names aren't too long. Try shortening them and see if that works.

ALSO make sure that the folders that contain the CONTENTS folder doesn't have any odd characters like /!@#$%^&*()?.
