Im new to c4d and I have version 10.1. I have an object that moves in a straight line at a constant speed. What I want to do is adjust the speed of the object. I want it slow almost to a stop then speed away. Ive being googling and I think time curves is what i want to use, but I cannot find that anywhere in v 10.1

any help would be great, thanks

You'll have to have at least 3 keyframes: start speed, stop, end speed.

Try right clicking on your object and selecting 'Show F-Curves' after your keyframes are set.

You can also try using the Animtion Layout (Window->Layout->Animation) and also sometimes you have to r-click on the animated property itself, e.g a 'visibility' property, to be able to show the F-Curves for it.

And as a side note, you can click on the keyframes in the timeline and in the Attributes Manager under 'interpolation' you can set some basic curves like 'ease-in' ect.

Edit: Actually use 4 keyframes with the center two keys having the same object in a fixed position. Then use the f-curves to tweak it up.

...slow almost to a stop then speed away. My bad, I was right the first time, 3 keyframes and a little f-curve adjust.

Here's (http://day7studios.com/raptor/samps/fsf.mov) a quick vid showing one way to do it.

I find the first few days or couple weeks with a new application to be extremely frustrating so I understand.

(Edit: figured out the link issue. doh.)
