Instead of bumping numerous old threads back to the front page to inquire if the camera is NTSC or PAL, why not just pm the person who started the thread? :)

Yeah I sent a PM to him a few hours ago when I noticed he had not only bumped VERY old threads, but more importantly had bumped SOLD products....

He's new though...

In a similar vein, I wonder if consideration has ever been given to view a pop-up balloon of the first couple of lines of the last post while one's mouse is hovering over the blue "go to last post" icon much the same way hovering over a thread's subject provides the initial lines of the thread's first post.

Sold item threads should be deleted by the seller (but that ain't gonna happen).

Too bad marketplace threads don't just expire or autodelete after 45 days of inactivity . . . don't know if that's possible or not.

I actually like to search threads for what items sold for. Knowing the price can help when you are looking to buy or sell something yourself, plus sometimes the thread brings up and answers relevant questions about the item that other people might have.

Locked maybe, but not deleted.

We've discussed the idea of auto expiration in here before - but Jim brings up one of the reasons why we haven't. On top of which, I think it's important for people to be able to search the marketplace to see if someone has ever sold (or bought) something in here before.

Also - considering people don't normally go through and bump numerous old threads at once, I don't know that this is really a problem than needs some sort 'forum altering' solution.

I'm not seeking a forum-altering solution. This is just a simple thread to bring attention to something that may be perceived as a nuisance to the regulars.

If anything, maybe this topic could be addressed in one of the stuck threads in this forum.
