is it fare to assume that its not a good idea to do slow motion in post when it was shot on 24p?im not talking about extreme slow motion , maybe about 20-30% , or will it not be that big of an issue, and if it is ok, what shutter speed would i record? would it still be 50 or so? thanks again!
i know that 60p slowed down than put on 24p time line would give you very smooth slow motion... I like the 24p look that i have on the gh1, but was not sure if it is a good idea to slow it down a bit...

You can in theory...shoot some tests, and make sure you turn off frame blending when you do it in post...try different shutter speeds.
The reason to shoot 1080p/24 on the GH1, in my opinion, is not for the 24p but rather for the extra resolution. 60p-->24p can be done pretty well in post using a variety of options discussed in an above sticky. My favorite is just dropping it in the timeline for most shots and then using compressor for the ones that don't look good that way after the edit is almost done....I then can get awesome slomo whenever I want (although not as good as if I had shot @ 1/120 instead of 1/60.)

ok, i will try to try different tests.. are you sayng that the 24p will hold up better in post with grading because of the extra resolution? for me it seems that i have more control of the grading when working on the 24p stuff...i dont know...
ben one more thing...lets say im shooting at night , lets say 60p , to get a slow mo shoot from that do i also need to go all the way to 120? that needs lots of light for the correct exposure, or 60 will do?again im talking about music video slow mo (20-30%)..srry for all these questions, its just im new to this, and i was planing on doing a music video real soon, and i want make sure i shoot it correct...thanks again
