Always read about the complications of importing via Log & Transfer in Final Cut.
I think the easiest, fasted way to import from any camera i've used it from Imovie.
BTW - just got my hmc150 yesterday, replacing my XHA1.
I am in love.

As far as I'm aware, transcoding via iMovie will produce Apple Intermediate Codec footage. Which isn't bad, but it isn't ProRes.
For what it's worth, I find the Log & Transfer workflow pretty good. I usually copy my SD cards to a (mirrored) drive, then point Log & Transfer at that hard drive copy. Once the footage is converted to ProRes successfully I feel confident that I have multiple 'good' copies, and unlock the SD card (thus marking it for reformatting and reuse). This isn't the fastest way to work, but it's safe.
