cool! did you experiment with the scene settings to get the lowest noise possible? it seems noisy. I am having a hard time eliminating the noise as well, still playing around with the scene settings.

I agree noisy, and i also notice a lot of artifacting.

Looks badass. What sort of lighting were you using?

Thx for the comment - I just used a 300 watt fresnel and color correction

Use a lower pitch blast for the shotgun. Even if it is a small one.
The machine gun should be a tad more ambient for that setting. Try early reflections or short rooms.
I personally don't think the fast-shutter thing works well on an interior scene like this.
And for god's sake get those actors to understand the fear and emotion that would come with using a firearm to defend your life.
They killed your work by looking so....'blah'.
Although I understand it's just a test.

i liked the first sequence. second sequence seemed repetitive. flashes weren't big enough and you should color correct them. sounds were too cartoonish, like from counter strike. you need to have some movement with the characters.
throw some cards in the air when shooting.

First off... great job on this for the effects but the sound was what killed it... Just seemed too thin and levels or something were off. Thought the beginning stuff seemed a bit produced but the sequence was pretty nice. i do think you'll need to get actors who can emote..

If anyone on this planet were to shoot a Pistol grip shotgun like that they would be looking for their front teeth. The recoil will slam that gun right back into their face.

I think that's one of the things not working here. The recoil should be more explosive. Maybe the actors can fake that.
It's done decently. But the little details with sound and recoil will make this really sing for you.

That's true... A shotgun isn't fun to either fire or get shot with... The pistol grip ones especially... Shooting a slug out of that is a wicked kick.

Partners in Rhyme has a wide variety of great gunshot sound effects.
If you need a big flash just use dragons breath shells in the shotgun.

I liked the opening sequence but that woman does not look comfortable holding a weapon. Truthfully no one that had any idea how to shoot would hold a weapon like that. Overall I thought that it was good but there is not enough chaos, and I agree with what others said about muzzle flash and the sound effects.
Thanks for posting...
