Nice. Any SDE is a feat by itself. Props! A priest with a lav looks funny. From my limited experience, a lav on a groom works well for the groom, the bride and the priest; maybe I just got lucky.

Did you shoot handheld or did you use a shoulder brace?

I was working with Superfresa66 on that event. The priest's lav is not ours but the ones he wears to be heard via the church's speakers. We did have a lav on the groom. We both use dvtec multi rig pro there was 2-3 shots in the SDE that were on a tripod.

Absolutely gorgeous looking footage. Crispness and color is stellar. But, i'm not a big fan of the music track. Personally I would of used a track to build emotion. With footage like this you need to give the edit that special touch that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up,, goosebumps,, but it just didn;t happen.
I do weddings as well although i'm yet to do one with my HMC but when I do trailers or highlight packages, I try and give it feeling so it draws a tear in the brides eye and her parents while they watch it.
Just my 2c worth! Apart from that,,, man o man its sexy looking footage.

Thanks for the input Shaun, I need to start making some templets on key songs and have placeholders for the clips i want to have in a specific part of the song... i agree with you about not being the best track for this, and also wish i would have included a few more clips and touched up other ones.

A little info on the workflow. We were running 2 HMC150's, during ceremony we put 2 Mac Book Pros to transcode (only one was really needed but we each have one so we said why not) The plan was to do it to AIC since one of the laptops is running FCP6 and the other one FCP7, and the final product was going to be displayed in a SD-projector. Well at the last moment i forgot to switch mine from ProResLT to AIC, so i caused myself some un-necessary render time. The final Clip was exported to Apple-TV settings from Compressor, since we were using a WDTV player (Western Digital TV player). The SDE and a slideshow were placed in a USB pen-drive, and played finally at the reception. One thing i hate on SDE's is rendering, since it feels like watching paint dry, and it's made worst if you can hear everything is going on on the hall, Like intros and such while you're working on something that has to play during dinner... It really is something crazy to experience!

Maybe next time it'll get easier! =)
