P2: Offloaded without copy protecting...(PLEASE HELP!)

I offloaded my P2 card into my hard drive without copy protecting my card. The files are on my drive, but I can not import them in FCP. When I try it says "Invalid Directory Structure - Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches the supported media".

Any ideas on how to get this footage in QT format and ready for edit???

PLEASE help if you have any suggestions.

copy protecting has nothing to do with your problem. in over 3 years ive never write protected a card ever.

questions:
- are you using log and transfer?
- are you navigating to the contents folder or are you going deeper?

and BTW, you are importing into FCP, not exporting.

tried log and transfer...but it says "file unknown" and won't recognize them.

I think the problem is that I re named the CONTENTS folder before pulling it onto my hard drive. I have all the info (15 GB worth) in the folder, but I just can't access????????

Did you just drag and drop the p2 contents? Or did your use some kind of management software like P2CMS?

CONTENTS folder should always be named CONTENTS. I think that is your problem. Try re-naming the folder CONTENTS (and don't ever do that again).

If it helps your planning and archiving, you can drop the CONTENTS folder into another folder and name that folder what ever you like.
