Hello everyone!
I've been lurking around the forums for awhile, and decided I should finally get around to getting an account. You guys helped convince me to get an HMC150, which I ended up purchasing last month. It's an awesome camera, and most certainly a step up from my previous camera, a GS500. I couldn't be happier with it, so thank you!

I recently got around to shooting my first film with it. The project was initially a small class assignment, but the concept grew into something a little bigger. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Thanks!

I guess I can post a bit about how we shot the thing. We used the HMC150 in conjunction with my very own homemade 35mm lens adapter. I mainly used a macro lens to get nice and tight on the actors. I wasn't able to push a big enough angle of view on them however, so I zoomed the camera out till I was just reaching the limits of what the lens was projecting. This led to some pretty strong vignetting, but I really like the end result of the very shallow DOF along with the wide angles.

As for lighting, we used a single kino flo lamp positioned right above each actor's head. This was to deepen the areas around the eyes and to give off a soft yet contrasty fill. This plus the natural light of the room was enough, though we used an additional 650 fresnel light on a white wall for the profile blood shot.

Overall it only took us several hours to shoot. As with any film shoot there were some unexpected problems that arose, but for the most part it all went really smooth!
