Why is the OM to Micro four thirds adapter so damn expensive? ($170)

My dad has an old OM camera and 50mm f1.8 lens, and a funky telephoto lens I'd like to try on the GH1. All I have right now is the stock lens. But im not sure if should get that adapter, or get some other adapter and lenses or go for the $400 native pancake. I think the soft 'older camera' (don't know how else to put it) look of the 50mm lens is what im looking for tho.

Any alternatives im all ears.

I have a couple of OM's that I use via a third party adapter, which is then connected to the Panasonic 4/3 - micro 4/3 adapter. This probably costs nearly the same as the one you are looking at though. There are a few cheaper options if you search ebay. Novoflex have just announced a host of adapters and I see that an OM is on the list.
