I'm shooting a scene in the desert and I need to have an old billboard sticking out of the ground in the back ground. I'm shooting on the HVX200A at 720 and was wondering if I would be able to add that into the film making it look real and just not stuck in if you know what I mean. The area is too big to do green screen. Has anyone added any building, signs etc... effects? Thanks for any feedback

This is very common. If the shot is a lockdown and your foreground subject does not have to walk in front of the CG element you could just shoot a clean plate of the background and add the sign with Photoshop. Garbage mask you character and clean plate with PS elements and your good to go.

beyond that you might need to place tracking markers on set if your shot is not locked down.

Do some tests first to make sure you can do it well.

the camera and format have nothing to do with it. it just comes down to do you have the knowledge and tools to do it. yes, its a pretty simple process - depending on how you compose the shot.

if you throw enough money and time at a project, you can do just about anything. If you're short of either or both, testing and creativity will help a lot...

here's another one that may help you,

depending on how your actor moves in and out of your scene.

What program are you going to be using? Just about any NLE or compositing program will easily do it...
