Im trying to compile a list of cheap, wide primes for my 7D and here is what I have come up with. Anyone please add to the list because I am certainly no old school lens knowledge base. I'd like to keep my list less than $200, the Peleng is more than that, but I included it because I THINK it is the widest cheap prime around?

Zuiko 28mm 3.5 and 2.8 versions ~$50-100
Tokina/Vivitar/Mamiya 28mm 2.8 - ??? Less than $50 Not as sharp as Zuiko?
Arsat 20mm 2.8 - Russian, mixed reviews $109
Vivitar 19mm 3.8 - Slow and not awesome?
Zuiko 18mm 3.5 - Kinda hard to find, supposed to be real nice $200+
Tokina 17mm 3.5 - ??
Zenitar 16mm 2.8 - fisheye, but less fishy on crop sensor ~$190
Peleng 8mm 3.5 - fisheye, actually wide and fishy on crop? $330

I am sure I am missing a slew of 20mm ish lenses, so add them so I can go buy them off eBay.

Are there any other old screw mount, om, k, nikon, whatever sub 18mm primes for less than $200?

28 * 1.5 = 42 = nearly normal
18 X 1.5 = 27 ish = not very wide

APS needs serious wides, most seem to be nasty modern zooms, there are no historical lenses that cover APS that I know of

Wide starts at 24mm (FF) in my book which is 16 (ish)

Proper wide starts at 20 (FF) IMO which is 13-14mm

Prepaer to trade your 5d and lose any gains in owning wide glass

A challenge indeed

Cheap, wide primes. Wouldn't that be considered a contradiction :)

Does anybody know if there is an FCP plug-in to remove fisheye distortion? I would probably matte to 2.35 anyway, so I don't mind losing vertical space.
