P2 import in G4 - FCP says - "P2 clips failed to import" READ!

Hello I need some help.

I cannot import on my G4 laptop. Everytime I am in Final Cut, I go to import Panasonic P2, then the window with the clips shows up, I select a clip and push import and this is the message I get..

"One or more P2 clips failed to import; probable imcomplete or corrupt clips"

I can import via firewire fine, but this just is helpful on the go in shoots.

Is there a driver I need. My 16 gig card wont even show up my laptop either. I am using Final Cut 5.0.4

are you using log and transfer? if not, you need to. if you are and you are getting these errors, try unchecking "remove advance pull down" from the preference menu with the little gear I believe.

EDIT: I just realized you said your P2 card doesn't show up. did you install all the necessary drivers from panasonic's site?

Which exact version of FCP? Let us know.

The import options change in the File menu.

Also, do the clips not importing play in the camera?

Did you delete any clips after shooting?
