Here we go again a new toy loads of speculation and crappy demo footage, Barry nailed it with his comments on the cycle we are witnessing, history does indeed repeat itself.

I for one got really stressed trying to decide between the MKII and the GH1 after I sold my D90, hours of reading posts and pixel peeping for what? Well in the end I think I made the right decision with the MKII, I chose picture quality and dynamic range over user friendliness and now it's looking like there's a better option for less money with very familiar controls.

I'm trying really hard to avoid pixel peeping this time round because at the end of the day it's really less effort to just buy one and try it out for myself but also the specs do look very good and it does appear to be the best new toy since the power pc.

My advice is if you're used to the pitfalls and can afford to live on the bleeding edge then put in your pre-order and chill, otherwise sit back and wait for the freaks to jump in the deep end and see if they sink or swim.

I will sell off my Nikon D-300, lenses and flash and get the 7d. That will complete my switch to Canon and give me two bodies, the 5D being the other. I'll probably use the 5D as my primary still camera for my photography work and use the 7D rigged for video. I'll slowly keep adding good canon glass, and sell the bodies as new and better models become available. I still shoot with an EX-1 90% of the time for paid work but the 7D will be much easier to use as a second camera for video projects. Glass seems to be the one thing that always retains it's value. Getting rid of bodies and video cams before their value tanks is a little trickier proposition.
