Gotcha!
I am going to try one more time with this question:
I am using P2CMS and offloading cards to a database, but can't get FCP 5 to import an entire database folder of clips. Each clip has it's own folder inside the database and I have to click on each one and import individually!
Nuts!
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
I have resorted to importing all the clips directly from the card using the "Import>Panasonic p2" option in FCP. (This version of FCP lacks the Log and Transfer option. We've got FCP6 here but this computer is working so well I'm afraid to rock the boat...)
"Import>Panasonic p2" brings the clips right in to FCP and they appear as mov files in the Capture Scratch folder.
I have heard that this may result in footage that lacks useful metadata for other editing platforms and so on. Is this true? It is so EASY doing it this way!
And we all know the P2CMS interface is a pathetic joke.
I have combed over the workflow section and posted questions on this previously, but never got a real answer.
Oh, and I will totally buy you a beer if you can help me with this. In San Francisco anytime, or NYC later this month. Ha ha....
Anyone?
Thanks,
Michael
