It's difficult to even find the camera right now, so you won't really find any deals. in fact, you might even end up paying a premium.

If you have a friend in or stopping in Japan, that might work and if you don't mind Japanese menus which aren't a real problem to me. I paid about 1080 US$ with a five year warranty. Ordered on Saturday and delivered Sunday. So far very pleased with the camera.

I haven't seen a red one here myself. I think Panasonic are struggly with supply for it in black, nevermind the other colours.

Red or Champagne was all I could find here. The black is either sold out or more expensive.

With the 7D being the new hot thing on the block, I'm pretty sure that will cause downward pressure on the GH1 so you might get a deal after all. Just wait a month or so :)
