Just ordered the smallHD and wanted to know what's the best monitor
arm to mount it? What are you using?
Should I be mounting to the shoe on the HVX200, or to the redrock microSupport rails? Etc..?
Don't want to spend more that $100 - $200, if possible
Thanks for your insight!! :-)

Which one DM? I see several models out there for sale
Thanks!
you should NOT use the camera shoe. use your rails or tripod or something else

Not sure which one I have, can't remember.
And adding to what wgzn said, definitely don't use the hot shoe or threads on the handle. Mount to the rails or any other point other than the camera.

The "best" monitor arm system IMO is the Zacuto Zamerican. It incorporates quick release and is unbelievably strong. Not cheap though. I don't like the Noga arm at all. Had one for the V8000HD and it keeps slipping, not very safe at all.

I use this when I need an arm..you can build your own custom config and it's low priced, but sturdy. I used it with my small hd and it works fine.

I would also say to mount it to the rails, the handle of the camera twists a little from the weight if you swing the monitor out to the side.

I like Zacuto, love their baseplates, but I think they have gone overboard with their accessories. It's all so clunky and hoaky now. Their handgrip/shouldermount kits are ridiculous.
