Don't think the GH1 has any internal wifi capabilities but I just saw this( http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=38 ) and it got me wondering if it would be possible to tap into the video signal going into the the lcd or viewfinder to send out through wifi to an iPhone or iPod Touch even if it means adding external components to the camera.

I suppose, in a pinch, you could mount a Nikon or Canon beside your GH1 to send out the image of the GH1's LCD through wifi but that isn't really a viable option.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

The search feature isn't working for me right now so I apologize if this has been discussed before.

Unfortunately that software is just a link between Canon and Nikon's existing remote control PC driver and the iPhone.

The GH1 doesn't have a remote control driver for a laptop or such like... not to my knowledge anyway... and even if it did, this software does not support it, only Canon & Nikon right now.

If you can view the live output via USB or Firewire from a DSLR, you can write software around the existing software to do whatever you like with the output, etc. Interesting link up with the iPhone, but not for the GH1 I'm afraid.

One possible idea for you...

They can fit a WiFi chip into SDHC cards now. It'd be nice to have a chip in the SD card which passes the raw AVCHD data via Wifi to a decoding box with a HDMi output on it. All feasible I'm sure - if you know how to make the data-sending chip!
