Shot for a contest that we did not win but it was a fun experience. Also used a Pro-Am DVC 250 Camera Crane that performs very well for a decent price.

Pretty cool video man. I liked the opening idea and the fireworks solo was sick.
The narrative stuff looked really good but the performance was a little flat because of the blown out sky. I would recommend picking up a Polorizer in the future to counteract that. Also don't be afraid to get some tighter shots especially on the performace. Overall great idea and nice execution. Keep it up.

Good point about the sky. I know about polarizers but when I bought one I couldn't notice a difference. I got a cheap one from best buy though, so maybe that had something to do with it. I could have used tighter shots and it did seem a bit distant. But I also liked using the continuous shot because of the realism of our performance and to me, cutting around would have made it seem more scripted. I wanted the viewer to observe how we could capture the emotion of the song in one take, without prearranged movements. In addition to that, a bunch of close ups would have eliminated all the work we put into securing and maintaining the beach location. Thanks for the comment and advice!

Thanks, we also used the 3 way color corrector in fcp to tweak each shot a bit. Added some saturation and brought out the color of the sand and the greens at the park.

Wow. I love the first minute or so. That intro is awesome. I would have like to see more of the band on the stage going back and forth between the firework scenes and what not. Anywoo congrats on ya video!

Really liked it. The only thing that bothered me was the first part walking with the mic cord dangling around. But other than that, it was awesome.

Looked all the others...and all I can say is. Pepsi has no idea what makes a good video. Look what they did to Michael Jackson! Yours was better by far!!!

That is one of the areas that we thought we could improve. Thanks for the feedback and appreciation!

That mic cable bothered us too. We finally got a good take without anyone being in the background and the mic cable got caught in the boards of a platform that extended out onto the beach in between those two palm trees. It got stuck so good that he couldn't move forward. We ended up using the take after that one. Wireless would have been nice, like the guitars, but without wires we wouldn't have been able to have the pullback on the mic from the sleeping lead singer that we needed.

Thanks for checking into it and acknowledging our video's value, we all appreciate it.
