Hey gentlemen. I am working a on cinema verite style film in a few months. The film has mostly night time interior shots with a few night exterior. The subject matter is similar to Rachel Getting Married so lots of whip pans and punches.

I've been leaning towards the ex3 for the last few months, but have heard good things about the 300 and 500 series. What I don't want is to kill the camera operator with a rig that is impossible to use since there will literally be 0 tripod shots for a 14 day shoot.

Yep, even District 9 used EX cameras for part of the film.

Wow, i was not aware of District 9 i knew they were used in Public Enemy, cool! Though you need to put together a Handheld shoulder rig, if you are going to do alot of handheld work, it applies a ltittle less with the EX3 but all of these smaller front heavy cameras benefit from a third party shoulder mount, giving it a feel of a bigger brother like F900
Cheers

Phil, you just love to show off that rig of yours, don't you? It's like every other thread you post in, you've got to post a picture of that OMG sweet f'ing rig of yours.

By the way, I have a poster-sized picture of your rig taped above my bed. For no particular reason. :D
