Any advice or links on the building design of a good dolly similar to Matthews Doorway or Russian Dolly?
Wheels? Steering? Platform? Material? Load capacity?

Thanks

I believe there are a few threads about dollies in this forum. You can also try this site:

http://homebuiltstabilizers.com/dollies.html

Or find Dan Rahmel's Nuts and Bolts Filmmaking, (should be on Amazon)
or Dan Selakovich's Killer Camera Rigs you Can Build

I have a lot of tinkerers who buy this track for their dolly even if not our dolly itself:

However you can't steer then, but it is very stable.

Very cool!
Did you bought the parts and made everything yourself? How did you sort the steering mechanism? You made it or bought it with wheels?
I am not a mechanic but will go and see one tomorow so I have to give him suggestions.

Thanks
