Error on my GH1 "Please check that the lens is attached correctly"

It gave this error a few times with the stock lens - when it was always attached correctly, very firmly in place.

I just got an M42 adapter so that I can use my lovely collection of M42 lenses. The GH-1 is giving an error "Please check that the lens is attached correctly".... the adapter and lens are mounted correctly, and click in to place. Very firm fit.

Is there any fix or work around to get rid of this message? The camera actually won't activate; the error stops the camera from working.

You have to dive into the menus and find the "shoot without a lens" setting.

In the menu have you selected "Shoot without lens attached"? (sorry if that sounds like a computer support service question like..."Do you have the computer turned on?")

just turned on the "shoot without lens" option, and it works! And the image with a 50mm 1.8 lens looks amazing, WOW I love this camera.. :D

Can we sticky this? This question is becoming very common; people really should read the manual and play with the camera a little first *mumble grumble*
