That, when you're in "Creative Motion Picture Mode" and you select a fixed shutter speed, that there is clicking changing aperature noise with the kit lens?

I don't hear the noise of the aperature changing when in any other mode, just when in "Creative Motion Picture Mode" with any fixed shutter speed.

The aperature change noise happens in changing lighting conditions.

It's curious that this noise doesn't occur when you're in P or S mode.

Thank you fellow owners for your replies.

Because in Creative Movie Mode the camera adjusts the aperture on the fly to provide a live 'what you see is what you get' exposure on the LCD.

Whilst recording the click disappears and it uses the more sophisticated continuous iris system which is silent.

In the photo modes it's more designed to give you as bright an image as possible to frame your shot rather than something which is representative of true exposure.

I believe they took this decision to make the camera as consumer friendly for both photos and videos as possible. It works like a consumer DSLR and a consumer camcorder in both respects.
