View Full Version : Storing Camera and Lens

I'm a bit new to the whole DSLR thing and I was wondering how I should store my new GH1. Is it OK to keep the kit lens attached to the body so that it will fit into a smaller case? Or should I get a case that stores the lens and body separately?
I'm new to this board, but I have to say I've been lurking for a while and have always found it extremely helpful!

Keep the lens on. I've always kept the lens just attached to the body and I can't see how it would cause any sort of problems. In fact, it's probably better than removing it every time you want to store it.

I recently got GH1 and after using it for couple of days, I have realized that its better to store the camera with the lens on because everyime you take the lens off you expose the sensor and run a risk of getting dust or finger prints on it.
To avoid this problem, I have ordered Lowepro sling 100.
