Hi all,

I know this has been discussed before and I have read through the posts but have run into trouble in doing this myself.

Tried to upgrade firmware on the EX1 to v1.11 and have run into trouble with the binary package loader. Getting connection errors 90003 and login error 90004. Tried turning off camera and trying again a couple times but without success. The camera now does not turn on in camera mode when I try to use it. The back light flashes but it doesn't load up and turn on other than the logo appearing on screen.

It seems to not be able to reboot camera now in the binary package loader either...

Any advice on what I can try? Would appreciate some help on this.

Thanks in advance.

Did you load 1.10 before 1.11?

This is most fundamental, 1.10 is a must, first, have you both the 1.10 and 1.11 update package? - works for me everytime.

Yeah it's the v1.10 that I used. On all attempts the loading/progress bar on screen never starts. I think the reboot worked first time and then the connection error occured. This hurt as I was sure I was sweet at this point.

It seems like the camera is in a inbetween state with no firmware working at the moment (if thats possible). As it doesn't start up anymore other than to power and show 'xdcamex' logo on lcd.

Is there anyway of resetting camera back, some kinda of reset button??

?? I dunno... lol Keen to hear any further thoughts on this

I had someone contact me with a camera in an unstable state as they tried to go directly to 1.11, but when they loaded 1.10 it came back to life, and they finished off with 1.11 successfully. If you are sure your trying to load 1.10 and it still isn't working then you may be SOOL. There is no known recorvery short of a Sony service centre and probably a new firmware board.
