My Bloody Secret...

For all those making BLOODY films for MonsterFest I wanted to let you in on a solid blood tip.

In my last film we used a lot of blood for the live butchering scenes. I made my own blood from several DIY recipes on the net, also tried several commercial products until I came across Ben Nye. If you don't know his products they rock.

Since they are $28 per 32 ounce jug you might only want to use them on closeups,
but IMHO, nothing else can touch it

FXsupply has been my makeup go-to since 2000. I agree with NYE for those close-ups. Go with your own recipe if there is going to be a lot... say a bathtub full or an exploding zombie. A trick with home recipes is not to just use all red coloring. You gotta thrown in small amounts of green or blue to get that color you are looking for.
