Hey all,

Here is some recent footage shot with only the HMC150's.

---> http://vimeo.com/6065966 (UPDATED)

Post production is taking a long time on these projects so we put some random clips together to put on the website.

Most of these clips were shoot with different frame rates so there is some distortion. Comments and opinions always welcome... Cheers

Are you using Vegas?

Jon - Yeah, I think it was about an hour of footage, down to a few seconds :)

Skilled - Yeah, using trusty Vegas 9 but It still has its days. This time I didn't transcode so I don't get a good preview before rendering.

Thought so. I noticed ghost images on your slow motion :13 and :58. To make it sharp disable smart resample! You will be amazed.

I noticed that it was not looking that great, which is why I mentioned the different framrate thing.

Thanks for that, lets see what that will do! Ack, well its going to be a while my editing machine went down...

So... All the recent rendering melted my video card fan/heatsync into a molten mess... which has been my problem

Slow mo looked much better... Looks like someone disabled smart resample to me. LOL

Glad you got your machine up and running.

Yep Yep, footage looked much better. Those clips were actually 24p footy mixed in a mostly 30p timeline, all at 100% playback. I have tested out the smart resample on other clips, but in this case it produces undesirable results - glad you caught that. :)

I also did a 2 minute color correcting job - vegas doesn't impress me with its CC features... maybe it something I am doing but on FCP it seems to be much more effective.

Could you post specs of your previous and current computer? (Wondering if I'll need to upgrade to edit.)

Sure,

I am and have been using a Modified Dell w/ core 2 duo 2.13, 4gig memory, 1gb video card, 5 dvd/blu-ray burners and over 33" of lcd's.

Its about the least I would want to edit with, but I have gotten away with using my laptop which is a little slower. I have to transcode the video to work with it flawlessly or it gets a little choppy with the preview of the native mts files.

Wait, you have 5 blu-ray burners?

MadHMC150
08-25-2009, 04:04 PM
err, I was adding them together - 4dvd / 1blu-ray

I would have that many if there was a demand! But, No one has blu-ray yet.

well, at least the DVD burners are all paid for =)
I have consider turning in final HD work on a Western Digital Video Player (WDTV) so like that nobody has an excuse not to buy my HD package!

But hope blu-ray picks up soon!

John are you going to WEVA, is in Orlando next month!... I want to go but i just signed up for inFocus for January next year, and i have to spend money wisely (still debating)

What kind of return do we get for these crazy admissions?

Superfresa66
