MONSTERFEST SCRIPTS AVAILABLE
As I've done with SpyFest, All Hallow's Fest, and LoveFest, I have written a couple scripts that are available for dvxuser members to use for MonsterFest.
About myself: I'm a graduate from Boston University with a B.S. in Film and Broadcasting. I have interned as a script-reader and as a writer for WSBK in Boston.
Some of the films I have written for DVXFests:
SpyFest:
No Middle Ground (1st place winner!)
Robin the Spy
Spying for Fun and Profit.
All Hallow’s Fest:
One Way Out
Buzz’s Last Halloween
TwilightFest:
Barn Dance
Divine Intervention
LoveFest:
The Music Box
The Double Date
Blind Date
LossFest:
Saint Anthony
QuestFest:
On the 26th Day
About you: you want to make a film for MonsterFest, but either you can't write, don't want to write, or can't come up with a good idea.
The scripts are 100% original material and written to conform with MonsterFest rules. Both would be considered to have a hard R rating or below. Sorry, no hard-core pornography.
The Homeless Vampire (http://www.johnlabonney.com/the_homeless_vampire_v2.pdf)
Story by Paul Condon and John Hoffar
Genre: Comedy
Monster: Vampire
A victim of the mortgage meltdown, a vampire finds himself homeless.
The Last Zombie (http://www.johnlabonney.com/the_last_zombie.pdf)
Genre: Horror
Monster: Zombie
In order to help his turned wife, a scientist desperately searches for a vaccine to cure the zombie condition. The epidemic trickles to an end on its own, leaving him with no specimens for experimentation.
Here’s the deal:
Click on the links and review the scripts. If you want to make one of them your own, send me a PM, and I’ll confirm with you that the script hasn’t yet been claimed. At that point, it is yours for your exclusive use for MonsterFest. In the extremely unlikely event that more than one person wants the same script, the earliest sent PM shall prevail.
You agree to start an official thread and make a good-faith effort to get the entry made. If you don’t feel like you’ll be able to complete the film, please consider passing and letting another member use it. It’s been an honor for me to have had the filmmakers here put their time, money, and effort into turning my scripts into films previous DVXFests. Realize my effort is in these scripts as well. Just because they’re free doesn’t mean they’re of no value. So please, if you’re not serious about making the film, pass. Fair enough?
You may modify the script or any of the elements in it as you please. I’ll help with re-writes if you like, or you can tear it apart yourself.
These scripts are free for your use; any prizes that you might win are yours to keep. All I ask for is screen credit. I simply want to participate in MonsterFest, just like you!
Also, if you have a concept you'd like developed into a script, contact me; I'll be happy to give it a try.
These scripts are for you! Should they be claimed by dvxuser members, I'll update this thread to indicate which are still available.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with them!
Thanks,
John LaBonney
