Monsters in Austin

Two-thirds of Fat Monster made the pilgrimage to Austin this weekend where we slammed cocktails with JDS, Luis Caffesse and Caffesse's über-mensch Cliff and conducted high level negotiations as to the terms under which Fat Monster would be permitted to enter the Monster Fest. Discussions were generally positive although no final decision was reached (newbies and casual visitors to the forum may be unaware of the awkard contretemps that has marred an otherwise productive history of collaboration between French Quarter Features and Fat Monster Films. Optimism does remain that the impasse may be resolved by involving Zak Forsman as a neutral party.

Fat Monster has claimed ownership over the term "Monster", so there is some heated debate over who has to change their name in order for them to participate :)

Though... An anonymous source has passed along some photo's of a certain "dude" and a "Miz Penguin" that may increase our bargaining power...

I think there's a rule about you all actually having to enter since the fest is MONSTER fest. Would be a shame otherwise... sorry I missed you and Luis this last time in LA, perhaps are schedules will align better next time.

Sometimes I am really amused about, which german words are in the english language like 'Schadenfreude' or 'Über-Mensch'. There must be a certain love for our language there!? Maybe I could introduce some other german very short simple words like 'Wärmedurchgangskoeffizient' or 'Wasserdampfdiffusionswiderstand', but probably all americans will hate me then :evil:.

I really hope that Fat Monster will turn back with a new wonderful film and for sure with fat monsters :D.

Nice that many of y'all old timers still think fondly of the monsters. We are giving some very serious thought to entering this little contest.

For anyone interested in coming to Louisville this weekend, Fat Monster and JDS are going to be featured guests at the Louisville Fright Night Film Festival. We're picking up our award for O2 that we were supposed to receive last year and we'll be jointly hosting a panel discussion. In addition, Jack's oeuvre will be screened and we've been promised some really good Kentucky sippin' bourbon which we'd be happy to share with any of youse who can make it out.
