Hi, new to the Forum,
I've been doing a considerable amount of reading regarding the GH1. I'm wondering if anybody's using FCE 4.0 to edit GH1 footage. From the specs of the PAL GH1, you should be able to capture the AVCHD 1080 50i (25fps) in a sequence (after it converts to AIC).
As I've read more about this camera I understand that the FHD option doesn't suit all situations, so is it possible to capture 720p into FCE 4.0, even into the same sequence (as 1080p), to kind of mix and match footage (not sure how this will look?).
Also is it possible with FCE 4.0 to achieve 25 fps (as I mentioned this is PAL) from the interlaced signal of 1080, and from the 50p rate of 720?
So far I've only edited with DV in FCE 4.0 so this is all relatively new to me, and I appreciate any kind of feedback, thanks for reading.
P.S I have watched at least one video edited in FCE, it was of a fashion shoot (by PhilD, I believe), I thought it was a good video (reduced some of my doubts I had about the camera). But it illustrates that you must be able to edit in FCE, just not sure it this is strictly limited to 1080?
