He rewrote the voting code to add .15 to his score per vote.

Larry Rutledge
08-04-2009, 10:25 AM
Actually, it just takes the highest score, adds .5 to it and assigns that value to my entry  (guess it's a good thing Jason changed it a couple fests back so Mod entries are exhibition only, huh?)

Really? I didn't know that... that doesn't seem fair to you guys but I guess it saves our poor mortal souls from constant devastation in every fest. Looking forward to your film!

Larry Rutledge

well it's basically the old, "employees, and families of employees, cannot enter the sweepstakes" thing. Since we "work" for the site it could be viewed that we have an unfair advantage over the other entrants, so to make sure everything is on the level we decided to make mod entries automatically non-compete.

While most of the mod's are very talented filmmakers, I am a computer programmer who has a strong desire to become a talented filmmaker ... so you don't have a lot to fear from me if I were in competition (though I intend to do my very best ... so watch out :) )

uh... oh....

SO, that's why Larry has been hounding me to allow mods to be competition eligible

Jason, you should enter this time...

Hey bug Jason somewhere else ... this is MY THREAD!!! :kali:

Jason Ramsey
08-04-2009, 03:18 PM
been thinking about it... Need to hammer out that 2nd film sometime :)

But, monster movies aren't really my thing (at least not to make), and it'd need to be something I can do completely on my own at this point in time.

Though, maybe the winterfest will be something I can get involved in.

Besides. I'm scared of Larry.

later,
Jason

Spoke with David Fine (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0006718/) briefly last night about appearing in this film and he expressed interest. Just have to work out the details and that means SAG paperwork, but it wasn't so bad last time.

And first draft of script, finally, should be completed this evening. Took a bit longer than I had hoped, but I think I finally will wrap it up tonight and then get it out for peer review

Zim

I really can't wait to shoot this movie. I don't even care what it's about, as long as I can try and scare people with the camera and lighting.

Finish the script alreadyyyyyyy.

I hope you end up liking the story ... I think it could be a lot of fun.

Finish the script alreadyyyyyyy.

We want script. We want Script.

I know, I know ... I'm really trying ... a few things got in the way, but I'm clear now ... so any day we should have a script. I need to get this wrapped up so we can start planning the shoot itself ... need to get that going soon.

maybe i can make it out to meet you guys at the shoot? details?

That would be really cool. Let me get the script wrapped up in the next couple days then I can start concentrating on shoot details. I need to talk to a grocery store in town and I imagine a lot will revolve around how that goes.

Just a very general overview on details ... I would love to shoot the last weekend of August, but I'm guessing it will be the first or second (or both) weekends in September. That would still leave a month and a half for post (which we need).

I'll be contacting everyone later this week to start working out all the details.

Well then kick a*s, Larry! Nice poster.

Larry Rutledge
08-19-2009, 09:39 AM
Huy - would love to have you come join us. I'll send you the particulars as they begin to get sorted out.

Marlon - thanks ... Mike Manning created that poster for me. I always enjoy his work

DarkElastic
08-19-2009, 10:05 AM
The poster reminds me more of a novel's front cover... Which isn't necessarily a bad thing!

Larry Rutledge
08-19-2009, 10:22 AM
You're right, it does have that look ... and I agree, it's not a bad thing. I particularly like it ... I think it works well for this. Of course once the credit block gets added to the bottom I'm sure it'll look more like a poster than a novel cover

script! script! script?

Larry Rutledge
09-01-2009, 01:32 PM
Sorry guys ... I haven't forgotten about this. Life got in the way a bit and I had to push some stuff back.

We're still on ... target the second half of September for production. I'll e-mail everyone in the next couple days with information and get the conversation really going.

The script will be coming this week, finally ... and then we can really start rolling and planning.

Thanks for your patience everyone

Marlon Ladd
09-02-2009, 12:17 PM
Yeah, we all know about that "life" stuff getting in the way. Keep pushing, Larry. Looking forward to it.
