Just for any folks who don't know about this from last fest.
The little addthis icon at the top right of any thread can be used to share your thread with a multitude of different social networking sites, via email, etc.
It says "share" and there are currently 55 different share options to choose from.

You guys sending out a mass email to DVX members to remind them that the viewing is almost underway? Might be a good way to draw in viewers and get more people interested who are actually eligible to vote.
Just a thought.

every time I do this, we get reported to spam police (even though we are only sending to people who have chosen to accept emails from administrators), and lots of angry emails and such...
So, it becomes a bit of a burden, and a risk I'm not sure has the payoff. Doesn't matter if you put it big bold ALL CAPS "YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS BECAUSE YOU HAVE ELECTED TO RECEIVE EMAILS FROM ADMINISTRATORS OF DVXUSER". People don't read. they just react sometimes :)
That said, I may look into trimming down who gets the email to just folks who have been active in the last several months and are eligible to rate and give it one more shot to see if it helps trim out the haters a bit.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I figured there must be a good reason and that makes perfect sense.
