liked it , even though this is nature at its best I thought the music killed it for me.

The problem I had was..the storm was so far away...that there was no thunder..nothing. I would of been a silent film...LOL

You use the pre-record? I thought the music suited it well but I got a little sleepy by the end :)
You didn't use 720/60p???

What is pre-record? And yes..it was shot a 720 60p. I just now figured out the best way to render in 60p in vegas pro 9. I might try to re-render the new and improved way.

Really?
In your menu you can turn on pre-record which will shoot up to 3 seconds before you hit the record button. I used it on the lightning video I shot a week or so ago... http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=178356
I transcoded to HDV with AVCHD2HQ when i was working with the 60p (my comp chokes on native). Then just slowed it in the timeline.

Wow..I never knew that. I just turned the camera on and walked away. Came back in 30 minutes. O and I can edit native in vegas..but even with my i7 and 12gig of ram..it can get a little slow.

Nice PC... We will be there sometime soon...
Yeah, you can save some usage/memory when applied to things you have to 'wait for' with the pre-record.
30min is a bunch of playback time to find quick lightning strikes, eh?

Tell me about it. It took me 2 hours to go through it all.
