To be announced :)
Though, here is a list of sponsors to wet your appetite.
Cinevate, Rode, Varizoom, DVeStore/DVCreators, Kessler Crane, ImageWest.tv, DV Rebel's Guide (Stu), Indifocus...
I think that is everyone :) Still working out the fine details for tonight.
--
I also wanted to add that of the 36 entrants in this fest... It's looking like 17 of you will receive a prize for your participation in the fest worth anywhere from 35 bucks up to around 1500 bucks. So, that's pretty exciting that we're able to more than half of the entrants a prize this go round.
And, we'll also have probably over 1,000 dollars worth of door prizes to be given away to folks at the screening and folks watching the webcast from home.
Next post will be updated when we announce the prizes and winners at the screening...
Later,
Jason

So, who are the winners then? The fest was during my bed time :). I worked out the 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th places, but the others? Anyone awake yet or are you all still suffering from the parties? :zombie_smiley:

Just made an update to the 2nd post with the winners from last night. Will update with the prizes in a bit.
We also had two additional door prizes from indifocus that went to two folks watching the webcast, and 5 folks who got the dvrebel's guide books. Will post publicly once I get those from Larry. Additionally, the same number of folks won those prizes inside the theatre last night, and someone got 3 free hours of screening time at the Downtown Independent, courtesy of Jim.

Opera! Musicals have dialogue....
:):):)
What??!! No award for “Most Running In A Film”? I feel cheated somehow…
In all seriousness. Congratulations. Deserving films all of them. I have only been a member of DVXuser since January when I bought my camera and my brother and I decided to try our hand at making films, so this was our first DVXfest as well as our first short film. I loved every minute of it and have learned a lot from everyone. Thanks and congratulations again. Nice job, Solomon , on the win.

Yep just a quick congrats to the top 8 and the other prize winners. I think this time polling and awards has come leaps and bounds since the last fest, and i think thats certainly down to the new 'studio' system too.
I would never have predicted 2 of the top 3, and that is a good thing! Congrats gents, all worthy winners.

Big congratulations to the winners and those awarded the special category prizes!
And I apologize to those whose films I couldn't get around to reviewing. It bums me out that life (and my own project) intervened too much and I couldn't help provide feedback. :(
Once again, congrats, and I look forward to the next fest.

Larry and Jason,
I know you guys are probably settling in from your trips and the screening event, but when you have a chance, can you let us know what we need to do if we were one of the lucky door prize winners?
Again, thank you for the on-line, off-venue experience!

shhhhh.... we're not supposed to say...
Hah I'm just kidding. But seriously, I THINK I know who of the top three got what, but I'm only 99% sure, not 100, so I won't say. I myself still haven't gotten anything yet, but I've been promised something, which is cool.
From what I can tell Jason has been incredibly busy lately, but I'm thinking soon as time let's up prizes for QuestFest will be announced and given.
But again, I'm not 100% sure.

Still haven't received anything, and haven't heard any word from anyone in about 3 1/2 weeks to spite emails sent inquiring. Alas.

I've just settled back in LA, have been traveling for work and filmmaking conferences since the DVXFest event.
First, I have some organizational things to sort out (who donated what, who gets what). Then the winners will receive an email from me with instructions on claiming their prize.
If you have any questions, I'm the guy to PM. sorry for the delay.

Come on guys - whats the deal with this! It's been oh gosh how long now hehe... i know im moaning but ive never one recieved an email confirming from the mods what was going on? For the record what is the issue with the prizes for this fest? Course we're grateful, but the wait and lack of communication (and there has been zero to me for example, is well, plainly put, a little disconcerting!)

Okay, I'm flabberghasted. I got into New York a couple of hours ago so I'm settling it at my dad's house and opening my packages. Some I expected and one... well I didn't know what it was until I opened it and just about broke out into laughter. Delighted laughter.
Big black box with the word RODE on it.
Thing is, there were TWO boxes....
So gushing over the boxes I opened to first one and found as expected the Rode NTG3 I'd won. Nice surprise to come back to, but wait! There's more!
Second box contained the Microphone suspension sustem. IE, FULLSIZED FREAKING BLIMP complete with handle grip AND deadcat. I was just about floored. I mean the sponsors (Spec Comm) had seriously outdone themselves with sending this gear out. I would have been happy with just the Rode NTG3, but the blimp as well?
So there I am gushing to my dad, and gushing to my brother explaining how big of a deal this was and the worth of it. I finally settle down and go off to unpack some more. And I;m taking some boxes out when I discover yet another unopend box. With my name on it.
A long rectangular box.
If I thought Spec Comm had outdone themselves before then that was just a joke. Freaking FULL SIZED BOOM POLE (uncabled, but the system is there for it, I just have to get it installed).
This stuff came late, but so what? The sponsors of DVXFest are giving this stuff to us for prizes and then because the prizes are late they REALLY outdo themselves. I'm going to be stunned for a while, but I just wanted to share the fact that the prizes arrived and yes: THEY ARE FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!

Congratulations Rodney on getting your prizes! Well deserved! Is this from QuestFest?
I have been emailing and PM'ing Jason for months now ( Over 6 months since QuestFest) for door prizes that I won and still have not received anything.
Am I the only one? I don't mean to sound un-appreciative, they are prizes after all, but if they aren't able to deliver, I would rather know that there is a problem, and I would understand. Otherwise, it's on my open list of action items and I still wait.

You're not alone... even I didn't win any big prize but I won a small prize, some filmmaking book or something I couldn't recall now... since LossFest early 2009.. almost a year now... and still haven't got it...
I keep reminding myself that they will get to it and i will receive it ..eventually ..hehe... not a big deal, but i don't want to sound like I made that crap up about winning something from dvxuser.com to the ppl I know ...LOL
