Thought I would share this with you guys.
IM doing a doc style commercial for a company here in suriname.
Traveled about 800 km to remote villages , met the nicest people , had a monkey for dinner , :)
Had some Good and bad days .
500 km more to go.
The hmc 150 rocks and I love it.
Shot with the filmic scene file and some with citi. wb set to 5600.

Thanks,

Everts

Looks good Everts! One suggestion is that you need to do manual WB with the filmic scene file to take full advantage of it as it uses an adjustment in color temp which only takes place when a manual WB is done AFAIK.

What's the stabilising device you are using there?

I've travelled to afew places around the world when I first started out , but this gig in my own backyard is a true eye opener. I had no idea there where so many trees in the rainforest :).
We had our first viewing and the client was pleased. Just a few adjustments . and then we're off again to finish the last route.
The only bad thing is that the spots need to be deliverd in poohpin sd.

you ate monkey?! how was it prepared?

looks good man.

I'm curious if you think the glidecam was a good investment without the vest. A lot of people say they get tired real fast, but I think using it for just a few shots would be awesome.. just trying to see what users with more experience would say

edit - whoops, didnt see the link you posted!

No I did not eat a monkey, oh you westerners :), but that one guy did go missing hmmm.

Glidecam , If I had the "monkey" I would go for a steadycam pilot, but for commericials even docs the glidecam hd4k would do just fine .
Not saying that im strong but i had purchased the forearm brace and for me atleast it became a strain on my shoulders. My wrists are prettty strong though, so i dont use the fore arm brace anymore. smells really bad though.

so for a conditioned beast like myself it shouldnt be a problem?
(joking, but really)

For a 4-6 second shot it should be no problem, in reality you will be holding it for a minute or so.
The video I posted was just to see how long I could hold it with the fore armbrace in a pretty hectic situation. pain pain pain.
Have you ever hacked a three down with an axe ?
I believe , and speaking out personal experience your body grows accustomed to it. Havent seen the gym in years but my body and arms can take it .
But If you would do longform, features, weddings maybe you probably will need something like the x10 to go with your glidecam.

For this project it working out pretty well. nice tracking shots , 180 turns .
