hi all, there were reports of an incompatibility between the 500 and the marshall V-R70P-HDA,

has anyone tested this monitor with the 300?

Thanks for the help.

Unless I'm incorrect, that monitor has component inputs, and the 300 outputs SDI

You are absolutely right!

according to the 300 specs, it outputs hd via sdi, but it also had component output that downconverts to sd. I guess the use of that will be to connect a sd monitor to it, otherwise I do not see the use of that output.

You are absolutely right, too!

In addition to that monitoring option, you can use that SD signal for line recording.
The AG-HPX300 also has an internal down-converter that allows output of high-quality SD video for transmission. The aspect mode is selectable between 16:9/4:3.

Now, regarding compatibility between HPX300 and Marshall V-R70P-HDA:
This HD monitor has a high resolution of 1152000 pixels (800H x 480V x each channel of RGB) and the SD Output of the HPX300 is 345600 pixels only (720H x 480V), so the SD image will fill just the 30% of its 7" viewing area.

That will happen with all HD monitors of any size. You might need an SD monitor for proper monitoring of the HPX300 SD signal output anytime.

Hope this helps.
