View Full Version : Scotland Vaction Footage 1080/25p
I took the camera to do stills with but ended up shooting a fair bit of video. No tripod and being stuck up a munro with just myself and bike made it tricky to get shots.
Post-production: Canopus AVC convertor > Edius 5.11 worked fine. Very minimal grading - most shots didn't need anything.
Please forgive the HH shot in the middle! But I wanted to get one in there.
I've seen the downsides of mud, and it's definitely there but keeping shots stack and not filming swathes of green helps. Green appears to be the weakest colour to shoot.
I got some great stills on the Isle of Skye too.

Breathtakingly beautiful!
Get a Gorilla Pod for your next outing - just wrap it around the helmet for transporting :)

Very nice stuff indeed. I shot a bunch last August when I was in Scotland.. would have been nice to have a wee cam over the HVX...
Did you make it to St. Andrews? I spent most of my time in Dundee... Really want to go back again soon.

Beautiful stuff! -Matt
Thanks guys, I know it's short but I was there to shoot stills mainly and the other footage is like girlfriend stuff rather than scenery. It's a ball-ache to keep putting the camera down and riding off and then coming back.
Martti - Gorilla Pod great idea, I'm going to get one. Not been to St Andrews, spent most of my time on the west coast - wasn't far from Dundee though.

nice footage, beautiful scenery.
i noticed the lens was a little wet in one of the shots...
did the body get exposed to some elements out there? howd it hold up?
Thanks.
Weather wasn't really bad - just the odd bit of mist and slight rain, with plenty of wind. I generally keep the lens connected all the time and wouldn't dream of removing it in such an environment. By no means a tough test, but indicative of outdoor usage.

yea i didnt think youd remove the lens during rain...
i was just wondering how the body held up to some moisture in general

Seems fine. One small small caveat is that the bottom scratched easily when placed on rocks and the like.
